Ruth Lee began her journey as an international student in New York, where she earned a degree in fashion design. Although she initially planned to return to Korea, God led her in a different direction. After graduating, she married a seminary student and began her life as a pastor’s wife and immigrant.

Through many years of ministry and immigrant life, she experienced isolation, loneliness, and struggles with identity. Through these experiences, she came to understand her identity as a sojourner whose true home is in heaven.

Serving alongside her husband in ministry, Ruth sensed God’s calling to care for and encourage others. She studied biblical counseling at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and became a certified biblical counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC). She now provides biblical counseling, family counseling, and training for lay leaders.

Ruth has a special heart for pastors’ wives and women serving in ministry leadership. Her counseling focus also includes individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and social isolation.

이루리 상담가는 뉴욕에서 패션스쿨을 졸업한 후, 신학생이었던 목회자와 결혼하면서 목회자의 아내이자 이민자로서의 삶을 시작하게 되었습니다. 오랜 시간 이민자로, 그리고 목회자의 아내로 살아가며 고립감과 외로움, 정체성의 혼란 속에서 어려움을 겪었습니다. 그러나 이러한 시간을 통해 자신의 진정한 정체성은 이 땅의 나그네이며 영원한 본향을 소망하는 존재임을 깨닫게 되었습니다.

오랜 세월 동안 남편과 함께 사역하며 하나님의 백성을 위로하고 돌보는 상담자이자 전도자로서의 부르심을 발견하게 되었고, 그 부르심을 따라 남침례신학교(The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary)에서 성경적 상담을 공부하였습니다. 이후 ABC(Association of Biblical Counselors) 공인 성경적 상담사 자격을 취득하였습니다.

현재는 개인 블로그(ourhopestory.com)를 통해 성경적 상담에 관한 글로 소통하고 있으며, 개인 상담과 가정 상담, 그리고 평신도 성경적 상담가를 세우는 교육 사역을 감당하고 있습니다. 상담 분야로는 목회자의 아내와 사역 가운데 있는 크리스천 여성 리더들을 돕는 것에 특별한 관심을 가지고 있으며, 우울과 불안, 사회적 고립으로 어려움을 겪는 이들을 돕는 상담을 전문 영역으로 하고 있습니다.
