Life is found
in connection
The brokenness of the world is real, but God entered our brokenness in the person of Christ. He then commanded us to do the same.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35
Our passion is to help people connect
to God and each other.
We strive to do this in two ways.
Equipping Others to Overcome Life’s Challenges
We all struggle with obstacles and difficult situations in our lives, but we don’t always feel like we have the tools to get through them. Connection Point counselors are certified, biblically-trained, and wholly committed to helping clients overcome any personal and/or interpersonal challenges they may be facing. We offer virtual or in-person counseling to best meet the needs of each client. Not sure if biblical counseling is right for you? Learn more about what an appointment with one of our counselors looks like.
Equipping Others for
Kingdom Work
Connection Point also has a heart for “equipping the equippers.” As such, we offer training for the aspiring biblical counselor that leads to certification through ABC. We also offer intermediate to advanced training for seasoned biblical counselors who are looking to further develop their skills. Whether you’re wanting to counsel a friend through hard times or are looking for more extensive training in the context of ministry, we help believers develop the skill set to counsel and support others as a conduit of Christ’s love and compassion.
How We Operate
Nonprofit
Connection Point Biblical Counseling and Training Center is a 501c3 nonprofit, donation-supported ministry committed to providing Christ-centered biblical counseling and training to individuals, families, and churches. We are supported in three ways: counseling, training, and donations.
We offer biblical counseling and training, including professional development, and CE credits for ABC. Our counselors and partners regularly prepare courses to foster growth in the Word for individuals, and for those who are called to counsel. Community Membership includes access to all our non-certification courses at your disposal.
Our courses are focused on four key areas of growth based on Luke 2:52.
Giving and Support
We have the privilege to partner with trusted leaders and local churches overseas to support disciple-making, biblical counseling training, and church-based ministry initiatives. Through these partnerships, we come alongside missionaries, church planters, and indigenous leaders—encouraging, equipping, and resourcing them as they serve their own communities with the hope of Christ. We even have counselors of our own serving overseas alongside our partners in missionary work around the world.
If you would like to be a part of our international projects, you can give directly to our initiatives through our designated giving fund. Your donation helps provide training materials, ministry support, counseling sessions, and practical resources that strengthen the local church and advance gospel-centered care around the world.
About Our Counseling
We are passionate about knowing and loving people well, using the story of Scripture in personal and meaningful ways.
Know
We want to know you well before we offer any help.
We want to understand your suffering and show compassion.
Understand
Love
We want to show genuine love for you in your circumstances.
-
Above all, we prioritize care to ensure that it is Christ-centered, biblically-based, culturally-responsive, and clinically-informed to bring hope and healing to those in need.
Our values are in alignment with the Biblical Counseling Coalition, and can be read about HERE.
-
When someone comes to us for counseling, it is usually because they are experiencing some form of suffering—something hurts. Our desire is to truly know the person sitting in front of us before we offer any counsel. We seek to reflect God’s intimate care for His people by listening carefully and thoughtfully. Biblical counseling is personal.
We want to understand how you are suffering and respond with genuine compassion. At the same time, we look for evidences of the Spirit’s work in your life and rejoice in what God is already doing. With humility and love, we may also help you recognize beliefs that are not true, gently pointing you toward repentance, growth, and sanctification.
Biblical counseling is not one-size-fits-all. Our understanding of you shapes the way we counsel. If you come to Connection Point, your first session will focus on getting to know you. We invite you to share openly and fully about your struggles before we offer counsel.
-
First and foremost, the Word of God is our foundation whenever we meet with a person. The Bible tells us who God is, who we are, and how we are to live in light of these things. We believe the Bible is a powerful and relevant tool given by God. We seek to match your story with the story of the Bible in ways that encourage you and challenge you. It may not happen that first session, but you can expect that our biblical counselors will open the Bible with you throughout the counseling relationship.
“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:12-13)
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
-
When you begin meeting with a biblical counselor, you will have been intentionally prayed for by your counselor, before and after your sessions. Not only this, but a biblical counselor personally pleads for the Holy Spirit to be present and active in the counseling room.
We depend on the Holy Spirit to enliven the words of the Bible, to give us eyes to see ourselves as we truly are, to bring conviction and repentance, and ultimately to bring salvation to those who do not know Christ as their Savior.
-
Biblical counselors know that the problem is often not what it appears to be. Our job is to work with you in light of a biblical worldview to unearth the true root of the problem. Our job is not merely to give coping skills for anxiety or anger. We want to get to the root of why you experience anxiety and anger in the first place and go from there.
“The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out” (Proverbs 20:5).
We want you to leave looking more like Jesus.

Lay Counselors
Connection Point is happy to partner with Shadowbrook Church to offer counseling from lay counselors who have been trained in biblical counseling. These counselors have significant life experience and/or formal training, but are new to formal counseling. We are excited to welcome them to our team! Our lay counselors are closely supervised, so their clients get the added benefit of extra attention from their supervisor. During their training, their rate is reduced to $60 per 55-minute session. (No additional discounts apply.) We hope you will meet them soon.
